ARVO 2025 – The 12th edition of the Trophy Award Ceremony!
During the ARVO congress, the award ceremony of the 12th edition of the Trophy Contest was held on Tuesday May 6th, 2025.
3 international winners were awarded for their outstanding contributions and had the opportunity to present their clinical cases on the subject: “When Skin Conditions Impact Ocular Surface Health.”
More than 200 eye care professionals from around the world attended the event.
Maria Adelaida Piedrahita from Colombia won the 1st price with her case “From Squin to Sight: Sequelae in Hansen’s Disease”. Leonie Menghesha from Germany takes the 2nd place with the case “Conquering Challenges in Therapy-Resistant Mucocutaneous HSV-1 Infection with Severe Herpetic Keratitis and Ocular Graft-versus-Host-Disease”. And finally, it’s Arturo Ivan Real Arellano who won the 3rd prize with the case: “When Pemphigus Vulgaris Wreaks Havoc on the Ocular Surface: The Importance of a Multidisciplinary Approach”.
The awards were presented by Dr. Chryssa Terzidou, an internationally recognized ophthalmologist from Greece and chair of the ceremony, and Jean-Frédéric Chibret, President of Théa. Henri Chibret, founder of Théa, was also present, showing his ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of ophthalmologists.
We were also pleased to welcome back last year’s winners as a wonderful way to pass the torch and continue building an international TROPHY community.
